As a Carbon CREW student volunteer, you embark on a transformative journey to impact the environment positively. Your commitment involves engaging in a series of five interactive online sessions, each taking place on Sundays at 8:30 PM EST. These sessions cover crucial topics such as energy, transportation, finance, and strategies for carbon drawdown and sequestration, leading up to achieving sustainable consumption by 2040.
Before each session, you’ll dive into the provided materials to prepare, ensuring a rich and informed participation during the live discussions. Each session includes breakout sessions where you discuss topics like Earth Overshoot Day, share impactful book quotes, and strategize on Personal Climate Action Plans (PCAPs) with fellow volunteers.
Outside the sessions, you take an active role in spreading awareness by texting a family member about what you’ve learned and discussing PCAPs. This engagement not only deepens your understanding but also amplifies the outreach of the Carbon Crew’s mission.
By attending the five sessions, you earn 10 service hours, with additional opportunities available to further increase your service hours. By the end of the program, you’ll submit your project completion through an online form, marking your significant contribution to a more sustainable and aware global community.
